Real Estate agents work on commissions. Every agent is responsible for
their own listings and sales. They share the commission with their
broker/employer. Many times the sale is by another broker firm where they
share 50/50 in the commission, so when the commission is split 4 ways the
earnings for each agent are now reduced considerably .
So when you contact the agent regarding purchasing or selling a property be
respectful of that agents position of working on commissions and do not call
several agents looking for the same information. If you have 4 or 5 agents
doing the same task/job, only one is getting paid and the others have wasted
their time , which could have been spent helping other clients.
